Empowering Through Unity

Dominique Cares was formed to give hope, support, resources, and services to individuals with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, ADHD, mental illness, and all other disabilities, along with their families. Additionally, we believe we are an organization determined to bring awareness and acceptance to the community. This is possible through the partnership and collaboration of other nonprofits, businesses, the educational sector, community leaders, and local, state, and federal agencies. We are committed to increasing awareness and acceptance, fueling action to make a difference in the lives of those impacted. Together, we are better, and we are determined to make life better for someone else. Will you join the movement?

Parent training workshops aim to promote healthy family balance, mental and emotional stability, and productivity. We teach parents and caregivers how to advocate for resources and services, preparing families for success. Being informed and empowered is crucial for navigating this journey. Support from other families creates a sense of community for special needs families. Parents learn about the impact of disabilities on individuals and families and learn resources and techniques to overcome challenges. They can use strategies at home to enhance learning and behaviors and participate in positive transitions as individuals age out. Additionally, a Special Skills Academy basketball program for kids with disabilities is developed in partnership with Saving Soles/Kingdom Performance and offered twice a week free of charge to the community.
